How does buying work?

Choose a design, pay by card, and you are signed in the moment the payment goes through. Your dashboard opens with your names already on the invitation. Add your date, your places and your words, press Publish, and you get one link. That link is your invitation: send it by text, by email, however you like. Nothing goes out to anyone until you send it yourself.

How many guests can reply?

Classic holds replies from up to 100 guests, whichever way they answer, counted per person. Signature has no limit. If a Classic invitation reaches its hundred, later replies wait safely, your guests still see a thank you, and moving to Signature shows them all; what you already paid comes off the price.

Can I change it after I have shared it?

Yes. Your words, times and details stay editable for as long as you like, and the link never changes, so guests who already have it always see the current version. With Signature even the design itself can be swapped at any time, and everything written on it comes along.

Can my partner or planner see the replies?

Yes. In Settings, share the dashboard with their email. They sign in with that address, no password, and see the same replies, meals, notes and photos. You choose whether they can also edit the invitation. Deleting a reply or a photo, buying anything and sharing further stay with the address that bought the invitation.

Can I cap replies at what my venue seats?

Yes, and it is optional. In Settings, write how many guests your venue seats. When that many have said yes, the next reply that says yes waits for you in a list on your dashboard instead of going through; guests never see this, and a reply of can’t make it never takes a seat. Let them in one at a time, or raise the number. Leave the field empty and every reply goes straight through.

Can I plan the seating?

Yes. The Seating tab in your dashboard lists everyone who said yes. Add tables, tap a table and tick who sits there; families stay together unless you split them, children are marked, and each table shows its meals and allergies. You can seat households that have not replied yet, and print the chart in three sheets: by table, alphabetical for the door, and by meal for the kitchen. Guests never see any of it.

Can a guest change their reply?

Each name replies once, so nothing is counted twice. If something changes, the guest writes to you and you correct the reply from your dashboard in a minute, meals and allergies included. A reply you wrote down yourself is replaced the moment the guest answers through the link.

How long does my invitation stay online?

Through your wedding day and for a year after it. If you would like it up longer, write to us before the year is out and we will keep it there. Your guests’ photographs follow the same year, and you can download all of them from your dashboard at any time.

I paid but no email arrived.

First check your spam folder, the welcome letter sometimes lands there. If it is not there either, ask us to send it again: type the address you paid with on Find my invitation and your link comes back within a minute. Your invitation is not lost: the purchase is already saved, the letter is only its messenger.

I deleted the email with my link.

Then get it again. Find my invitation asks for the address you bought with and sends your link, and your invitation number, back to that address and nowhere else. Nothing is ever lost by deleting an email — the invitation lives on our side, not in your inbox.

How do refunds work?

Ask within seven days of buying and we refund in full, as long as you have not already shared your link with guests. If the fault is ours, the seven days do not apply at all. The whole policy, in plain words, is on the refunds page.

For guests

Do I need an account or an app?

No. The invitation opens in any browser, on any phone. Nothing to install, no account to create, no password to remember. The link the couple sent you is all you need.

How do I reply?

Open the invitation and answer right there: whether you are coming, who is coming with you, and anything the couple asked about, like meal choices or allergies. One reply covers your whole household, so you do not need to answer once per person. Your answer goes straight to the couple.

How does the photo album work?

Some weddings have one. It opens on the morning of the wedding and stays open through the end of the second day after it. You scan the card on the table or open the link, pick your photographs, and they go straight to the couple, up to twenty at a time. You will not see the album itself: the couple sees every photograph in their own time, after the day, and they choose what stays.

Still stuck?

Write to us at hello@thedigitalenvelope.com and a person answers, usually the same day. If something is wrong with an invitation you bought, the help page opens a letter with the right things already in it.
